Commission for Workforce Excellence

Working Book Database

Developed a database of approx. 155 school-to-work training agencies and institutions, in Allegheny County, to be used for coordination of services and improved training capacity. Search queries enabled the user to examine cross tabulations of occupations, instructional programs, Standard Industrial Classification Codes, training institutions and occupational forecasts.

Welfare to Work Transportation Project

Joint project with Regional Planning Technologies (see Partners page). Development of a spatial analysis tool, through the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology, that will enable both local transit authority schedulers and customers to identify transit accessibility and service gaps by looking at maps.

Global Information Networks In Education (GINIE)

Gather information, assist with fundraising, design and development, recommend focus and strategies for development and implementation. 

The Multimedia Foundry

"Smart Building" Project

Assist with the coordination and research needed to secure the resources and commitments that are necessary to develop a smart building in Pittsburgh using the 55 Broad Street model started by Rudin in New York City.

2000 Cultural Audit

Joint project with Washington Consulting Group (see Partners page).  Summarize and analyze survey responses, benchmark current results against findings from previous audit, and, assist with the development of strategic recommendations.  

City of Pittsburgh, Personnel and Civil Service Commission

Police Diversity Recruitment Assessment

Joint project with Washington Consulting Group (see Partners page).  Help conduct community focus groups, summarize and analyze participant responses.  

East Liberty Development Corporation, Inc. and East End Neighborhood Forum

Development of In-House Property Management System

Joint project with Regional Planning Technologies (see Partners page). Use property management module of GeoPlan to develop a system that enables both organizations to: inventory properties; catalog property conditions and ownership; readily identify/select properties that meet development criteria; identify non-conforming uses; identify and track problem properties; track property values; readily store and share property related documents; map properties.
